Travel the World: Traveller, not a Tourist

Register to attend this free in-person event.

On 23rd November, Global Lounge takes a look at the alternate side of travelling, and the enriching experience of exploring off-the-beaten-path locations.

After having spent the last year travelling whilst studying, two University of Bristol students will share their insights on what they have learned from this experience.

Matt Collins, a final year languages student and polyglot will discuss travelling to learn languages and the professional benefits.

Omar Hamed Beato, a final year Politics and Economics student, on the verge of releasing his first travel documentary, will share insights on the myths of travel and understanding culture.

Instead of simply telling travel stories, or sharing photos of places they have seen, their presentation serves to enlighten and inspire people on how travel shapes your character and identity, widens your cultural margins and how travel could be a key investment even for a professional career, especially in light of the recent global changes and developments.

Rather than to inform, this presentation serves to inspire. It is also brought to you as an interactive presentation, so you’ll have the chance to answer any questions you may have at the end.

This is a fantastic chance to broaden your cultural knowledge, learn something new and be inspired to visit new places in the future. Not only will you get to learn something new, but you’ll get to meet new people and enjoy some refreshments after the talk.
