Tuesday 2 February at 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm

Sit back, relax, and discover new places and destinations with our Travel the World series!

Every Tuesday from 1 pm to 2 pm for the duration of February 2021.

Experience different parts of the world as fellow student and staff volunteers share insightful stories about locations across the globe, from famous landmarks to local hotspots. This is an exciting opportunity to learn about new cultures, including local traditions, celebrations, etiquette, food and much more!

Join us for this virtual event.

On 2 February, we’ll be hearing about Indonesia!

You will have the unique opportunity to be guided through Indonesia, exploring it with our speakers, current students Ananta and Sarah. Brought to you as an interactive presentation, you’ll have the chance to ask any questions you may have at the end!

For this first-of-its-kind collaboration between the Global Lounge and the Indonesian Student Association in Bristol and Bath (PPI Bristol and Bath), Ananta and Sarah will guide us through several prominent destinations in Indonesia, each with their own unique characteristics…

They’ll be taking us from the Indonesian Capital city of Jakarta, which reflects the nation’s multi-cultural diversity and showcases the national’s past, present and future, to the heart of Java in the region of Yogyakarta. This is where we will explore the rainforest hill of Gunung Kidul and world-renowned landmarks such as the Borobudur and Prambanan temples, and learn about traditional Javanese culture and local food. Lastly, we will head to the Nusa Tenggara Region to meet the 8th wonder of the world—The Komodo Dragon—, observe the beauty of Sumba, and visit the future destination of beach getaways and motorsporting in Mandalika.

This is a fantastic chance to broaden your cultural knowledge, learn something new and be inspired to visit new places in the future and engage with students from all over the world.
