Transitioning to a new place – online workshop
Thursday 8 July at 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm
Transitioning to a new place is an interactive, virtual workshop brought to you by Student Inclusion and Kynfolk, for all students, home and international (students from the UK will have the opportunity to explore their own intercultural skills during the session, and offer personal insights).
Going to university can be a big transition, and you may experience a lot of emotions in the process and worry about your ability to cope with your new life and environment. This session will give you a chance to meet with others who are also new to university and will give you space to share and listen. You will have the opportunity to co-create a list of ideas to help you, and those around you, thrive in your new environment.
During this workshop we will:
- talk about how you are feeling about being at the University of Bristol
- share some of your hopes and the challenges you face in leaving where you’ve come from and adjusting to a new environment
- reflect on what keeps us well, and reminded ourselves to be patient and kind to ourselves and others
- be reminded of the University support services that are available
This is the second of two workshops, which aims to help students navigate their way into a new culture via interactive presentations and discussion.
Capacity of events is limited. To join in please register to book your place. You will receive joining instructions a few days before the event is scheduled.
