British culture: thriving when you’re new to the UK webinar
Thursday 8 September at 1:30 pm to 3:00 pm
Equip yourself for a global future.
British culture: thriving when you’re new to the UK is an interactive, virtual workshop brought to you by Student Inclusion and Kynfolk. This event is for all students, home and international; students from the UK will have the opportunity to explore their own intercultural skills during the session and be invited to offer their personal insights.
Going to university can be a big transition, and you may experience a lot of emotions in the process and worry about your ability to cope with your new life and environment. This session will give you a chance to meet with others who are also new to university and will give you space to share and listen. You will have the opportunity to co-create a list of ideas to help you, and those around you, thrive in your new environment.
This is the second of two workshops, which aims to help students navigate their way into a new culture via interactive presentations and discussion.
During this workshop we will talk about how you are feeling about being at the University of Bristol, share some of hopes and challenges faced in leaving where you’ve come from and adjusting to a new environment. There will also be the opportunity to reflect on what keeps us well and remind ourselves to be patient and kind to ourselves. You will also find out more about the University support services that are available.
Booking for this event is open to all students studying at the University of Bristol – availability is limited and booking is essential.
