Friday, October 15: Traditional Mexican Diet in Fight Against Obesity and Disease

Selene Valerino-Perea studies the PhD in Exercise, Nutrition, and Health Sciences. She is a nutritionist with experience in public health, particularly in studying and delivering interventions to promote healthy eating habits. She is interested in learning how to improve the health of the population through policies involving traditional and sustainable diets.

In particular, Selene will talk about her research on the traditional Mexican diet and how this diet is associated with tackling obesity, diabetes, and cardiovascular diseases.
