Did you know that Japan is the eleventh-most populous country in the world, yet three-quarters of its terrain is mountainous? Whether you’re passionate about Japanese culture or just want to learn more about this multi-faceted island, you won’t want to miss our Japanese culture day event, courtesy of Bristol SU’s Japanese Society.
Attendees will hear from society members about Japan and Japanese Culture, meet new people and enjoy a fun evening in the Lounge! On the day, you can enjoy:
- An introductory session to sushi making – make and eat your own sushi!
- An origami crafting workshop in collaboration with the Origami Society of the University of Bristol
- Yukata photo booth – get an instant polaroid photo taken of you with models in traditional Japanese clothing
- Shodo – a Japanese calligraphy demonstration
- Delicious finger food
During this event the Japanese Society will be raising funds for Aid For Japan, a charity focused on supporting orphans of Japanese natural disasters. You can donate by purchasing a raffle or a little Japanese souvenir.
Our events book fast so please register to guarantee an entry. The event will run twice on Friday, November 26.
Please arrive on time for your specific timeslot – either 1PM or 3PM as per your registration. We will keep your registration for 20 minutes at the start of the event before we hand it over to any unregistered guests.
