An Introduction to British Culture
Thursday 6 August at 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm
An interactive virtual workshop for all students – UK and international. We welcome British students who will have the opportunity to explore their own intercultural skills.
The Global Lounge has partnered with the Student Inclusion team and Kynfolk to deliver a series of training events to equip you for a global future.
This is the third workshop in the series and will provide an opportunity for students to learn more about British culture through hearing from writers on British culture and through exchanging experiences. Whether you attended the other workshops in the series or not, this will provide an opportunity to deepen your intercultural understanding.
We will look at a wide range of cultural topics from sense of humour to attitudes to time, from expressions of politeness to expectations in the classroom. (British participants are welcome to participate to share their perspective and to learn about their own cultural influences).
You can use attendance at this event as part of your Bristol PLUS award.
Please register here for this free event – bookings open 30 June 2020.
Please note that this event is aimed and focusing on students, however staff are welcome to attend. Staff only sessions are currently being developed by Student Inclusion and Global Lounge teams.
